The Gen8 Microserver differs from its predecessors by offering a socketed CPU (socket 1155), making user CPU upgrades possible. The Gen8 supports both Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge CPUs.
WARNING: The Gen8 G1610T/G2020T heatsink is rated for a 35w TDP, the newer i3-3240 SKU is rated for a 55w TDP. Caution is advised if using a higher TDP CPU due to increased heat output.
